With over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, my journey began right after high school graduation at a regional bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through a local high school club, I secured a role in front-line retail banking, starting as a teller and quickly advancing to bank supervisor. Simultaneously, I pursued higher education at Northeastern State University, balancing academics with hands-on experience.
Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I was offered a position at Arvest within their Bank Secrecy Act Department as an Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst. This role expanded my expertise in regulatory compliance and risk assessment across multiple state markets.
My career then progressed to Bank of Oklahoma Financial, where I developed into the corporate world within the Risk Management division. During this period, I earned several certifications and advanced my education by enrolling in Ohio University's MBA program.
In 2018, I transitioned to Stride Bank, a community-focused institution, where I currently serve as the Enterprise Risk Manager and Privacy Officer. In this role, I oversee a team spanning four states, managing key areas such as audit programs, risk assessments, risk controls, and FDICIA compliance.
In October 2021, I took on the role of Finance Manager at Peace Academy, answering a call from the Director. My work in overhauling the institution's financial operations, including budget forecasting, strategic planning, and grant acquisition, was instrumental in maintaining its accreditation.
Recognizing a growing need for specialized financial and accounting services within Islamic foundations and entities, I established Casa Shaker Consulting LLC in July 2023. With a portfolio exceeding $30 million, my firm provides expert services across multiple states, delivering tailored solutions that empower financial futures.
